For a while this was the home of Previously Owned. (& I loved it) Then, came bigger ideas, more pictures to share, stories to talk about, and FASHION TO STARE AT!
I present to you:
HTTP://PREVIOUSLY-OWNED.NET !!!
I have a bit of an ocd issue going on, and I needed a home page.
why?
Because, its my party and I cry if I want to.
NAH
Because, apart from blogging I also work at a magazine, in retail, and do free-lance styling. I needed some sort of place to divide it all.

As you probably already know, Puerto Rico is going through some ridiculous tough times. Our government basically took an acid slip and decided to become fascist and irrational for no apparent reason. It’s a circus in the senate, and more people are being left without jobs while “private” companies are getting all the cash from our taxes. Most senators/governors are taking money illegally from every organization possible. Creating campaigns for better jobs… while estimating a wrong total amount on new projects so, they end up with money to spare. Where does all that money go?
Puerto Ricans are STRESSED THE FUCK OUT. Our own governor, the one who fired more than 17,000 employees, told them to go over to the coffee fields to work. Sarcastic MUCH?
Well, there’s the people who know this but chose to do nothing about it and there’s the people who want to create consciousness. EL COMENTARIO are the ones who want to make YOU AND EVERYONE aware of what’s going on. How? By throwing OPEN BARS and making a statement. You relax, drink, and actually play a part in joining a group of people who are not the MAJORITY by voicing their opinions. You can check out their BLOG over HERE.
Although I wasn’t there to take pictures, I noticed some very FASHIONABLE ladies & gents were there. So, I could not resist myself from such opportunity.

Etsy can be a bit overwhelming to some because of all the beautiful shops to choose from!!! So, as of today, every week I will be picking an Etsy SHOP for all you lovelies to SHOP AT! This time around, THIS HAD TO BE MY FIRST PICK. Samantha from Smelly Shoes Vintage may just be the nicest/cat lover/vintage finder around. Oh, and an avid tweeter-er. ha! From broaches to the rarest selection of vintage cameras AT THE BEST PRICE EVER (polaroid cameras at 18$ everyone!) to girly dresses and metallic shoes.

Is is that obvious I have a girl crush on Karen O?
You’ve been reading posts from her, or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ver since my first blog over at “First Floor People”. I know, I’m a fan. But, regardless of how much I like her singing or style, it was quite surprising to see the colaboration with Where the Wild Things are. Original songs and all! This is the sweetest most perfect production of Karen O to date. But, what else can you expect from someone who got her Yeah Yeah Yeahs bandmates, Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, Dean Fertita of Queens Of The Stone Age, Aaron Hemphill of Liars and many others to be her “kids”.

*all media posted on Previously-Owned.net is for the plain purpose of further promotion to the artist. With the intention that in the end the reader buys/shares it.
I’ve always been meaning to ask a handful of questions to other bloggers about who they are behind all those lovely posts. With this in mind, Hilary from CakenotCoke.com CAME INTO THE MIX for this month’s FASHION BLOGGER INTERVENTION.
ON BLOGGING
1. Cake NOT Coke? explain how this became your blog’s name.
I kept this explanation in the about section of my blog but it was a
bit wordy so I removed it!Now this is going to sound a bit vein, but because of my height and
looks I constantly heard “you should be a model” from random
strangers… To be honest I tired to be a model when I was in high
school and college. After hearing you have to loose 10-20lbs (at that
time I was a size 4, 5’11 and 135lbs and C-cup bra), I stopped
looking into it.But I kept hearing it from strangers and I eventually started to be
bothered by hearing it (I know maybe I should just take it as a
compliment, but don’t these people think if I could I would!), I would
respond, that’s because I like Cake Not Coke, we’d both have laugh and
move on… Disclaimer, I know not every model is on Coke or uses to stay
thin… It was just a fun witty answer I’d use. When I decided to start the blog I was brainstorming site names when
someone came to me and said “you should model” when I replied no
because I like Cake Not Coke… Light bulb! You see why I changed the about!

Go Fashion Bloggers, Go!
Edited by Debutante Clothing
As more and more print magazines fold, bloggers seem to be growing in professionalism and media legitimacy. When bloggers such as Previously Owned and kaKofonie Of si(gh)lenS can get the scoop on international designers, you know the fashion playing field is being leveled. If bloggers can host great giveaways like Retro Chick’s, I wonder why the FTC needs to play big brother. Fashion Pulse Daily wants to know if you even care. It seems we are becoming the pretty, little websites that could. Yay bloggers!

When you google Beth Ditto, after the usual Wiki description, you get STYLE.com and “Beth Ditto for Evans”. Crazy enough, in that first page, you don’t get searches that refer to you towards THE GOSSIP. This woman has made so much headline by being her fashionable self and not being afraid to be different, that she became a style icon from day to night! Lead singer in THE GOSSIP and an Icon for women everywhere, Beth Ditto has taken the world by storm. Right when most fashion houses are being questioned about the size of their almost dissapearing models Ditto came around. This incredibly talented singer is one to look up to. Not only because of her singing but, her poise and confidence is one to envy.
It comes as no surprise that THE GOSSIP is one of my favorite bands on EARTH. Way before the “fashion blast” that came onto her, I was trying to learn each song from start to finish. Soulful melodies full of GLAM VIBES are definite way to go! And when they come from a woman with so much power to change the fashion industry’s vision about REAL women, you just HAVE to sit down and listen!
As far as Beth Ditto’s Collection for Evans… I can’t even get ONE piece because it is strictly for UK stores and not available online. But, with pieces like this I would ebay search endlessly till something came up! <3

“I’m really into looking decent and being comfortable at the same time because I think that if you look uncomfortable you don’t look good and that’s something I see in a lot of people, like, running down the street in these awful shoes…it’s like, you don’t have any swagger, you look crazy, just wear flats!” -Beth Ditto

For ages, the black liner has been synonym to mystery and lust. Women who wear it are usually the more daring type. The men who wear it, are more shy and introverted. One thing they always have in common is: The darker, the better! Wiki actually gave me a blunt explanation from where this rage came from. “A dark, sometimes morbid, eroticized fashion and style of dress” with icons like
